One month

Yesterday Emmory turned one month old. I know that isn't very much time, but I still can't believe he is already that old. The sentimental mama in me keeps thinking, only 11 more of these until he is one, wow, I really need to cherish this time with him. He has already changed so much, he is not the same baby I brought home from the hospital, he really doesn't seem like a newborn anymore. It's definitely been a challenge to cherish the time with him this past month when I feel like I've been in a fog....learning to breastfeed, getting little, broken sleep, just getting the hang of being a mom and having a child to take care of 24-7...I've realized I need to stop focusing on just getting to the point where he is sleeping through the night, and just enjoy him. And he is so enjoyable, he is the most amazing, precious gift and I am so in love with him. I started to compile a list of the things I love about him so far...
I love...
-The way you stare at me with your eyes wide open when I am holding you and talking to you
-The way you reach up and touch my face when I am talking to you
-When you grab my hair
-Your sweet smile
-Your double chin
-The little noises you make when you are ready to eat
-The way you coo when we are laying down playing with your little cow
-How you are the most happy when you are naked
-The face you make when you are on the changing table looking up at me
-The loud noises you make when you eat or suck on your paci
-How you stare at the mobile when you are in your swing
-Your little complaining noises when you are in your bed by yourself falling asleep
-How you love getting a bath and having the water run down your head
-The birthmark on your leg
-How you love to stick out your tongue
-Your precious, smooshed, peaceful face when you are sleeping on your daddy's chest
-The way you bob your head when you are rooting for food
-The way you flail your arms and legs when you are having your alert awake time
-Your dark spiky hair, that you got from me
-Your milk tongue
-The way you smell
-How soft your skin is

Weeks 1-3

Here are a few (yes, there are only a few compared to the amount of pictures I had to narrow it down from) pics of the first 3 weeks of Emmory's life. He'll already be one month old this coming Tuesday, so hard to believe! There are way too many pics for me to have time to write captions on all of them right now, so just enjoy the pics!

The second love of my life

Here are some pics of the day Emmory was born and the two days following in the hospital
Mark said he was going to take progression pics throughout the labor...however this was the first and last one he took haha

This was taken the next day after we got to the hospital...the labor lasted 31 hours, and we were at the hospital for 20 hours of it. Whew!

Mark seeing Emmory for the first time

Myself seeing Emmory for the first time
Our lil boy got a scored a 10 on the apgar scale...we were so proud :)

Holding him for the first time

My absolute favorite picture in the world, I will never forget this moment when they first laid him on me and those lil eyes were just staring at me

Proud daddy

Proud Grandma (my mom)

Proud Grandma (Mark's mom)

Me and my sweet baby boy

The grandparents

Aunt Susan

Of course Mark is goofing off even in the delivery room

Aww look at that face

In daddy's arms

Apparently labor was hard on Mark too...haha j/k he was an incredible coach and support I never would have made it without him

Daddy's hand on his boy
All swaddled up

On his tummy
Mama and son

Daddy and son

Emmory has the most amazing daddy...he helps feed him, change him, burp him, dress him, swaddle him, etc etc.
Can't hold him enough
In his going home outfit

It was quite a process to get him all dressed and he did so well

Grandpa flew in the day after he was born to see him

The lactation consultant at the hospital gave Mark the golden nipple award, she gave him an actual award because he said the breastfeeding session we were going to have was more important than having Emmory's picture taken by the photographer

Getting ready to go home

All snuggled in his car seat

Leaving our room
Leaving the hospital

In front of the car, you can see Emmory in his car seat in the background
More pics to come...
